What is CANopen?

The CANopen communication protocol is a higher layer protocol based on CAN bus. In on/offroad vehicles such as agriculture and commercial vehicles or marine, CANopen enables secure communication between different devices and components. It provides a CiA standardized method for exchanging data and commands between different nodes in the network. Guaranteeing efficient as well as reliable communication between systems.

Several of our CAN Controllers are available with a CANopen stack and can thus act as CANopen responder. The commander passes the commands via CANopen to our products, which execute the commands and therefore do not require independent programming. The configuration is done directly via the commander, e.g. via Codesys.
